In the first in our series of talks with this year’s shortlisted artists and photographers for the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize, Lebohang Kganye takes us through her practice and her nominated exhibition Haufi nyana? I’ve come to take you home (2023), which first showed at Foam in Amsterdam.
Kganye brings us beyond the image, to other areas of making that encompass installation and liveness, locating us within a unique sense of place and collective identity. Together with curator Catherine Wood, we will look at the wider histories of South Africa and the legacies surrounding apartheid and colonialism that inform Kganye’s research and work.
Details on how to access this event will be confirmed upon registration. Please check your junk folders if you haven't received an email from TPG staff confirming your place before the event.
Please note due to technical difficulties, part of the conversation was not recorded. Thank you for your understanding.
