Beautified-AI speculates on the impact of fabricated internet user profiling, forming complex, digitally woven live beings from AI-generated portraits. The project establishes a community for AI-generated profiles where, rather than using the technology as a commodity in order to take advantage of deep fake techniques, the synthetic beings are characterised as complex and layered within the virtual environment. Beautified-AI debates the role of synthetic AI imaging, using AR technology to politicise these fabricated profiles.
Through machine analysis, the work explores the livelihood of synthetic beings within a series of speculative processes including AI-generated poetry, vector graphs formed using webpages in response to the project, and word embedding to humanise the synthetic process. The AI.poetry generates through natural processing language, a discussion on the implications of fake, automated social media accounts supported by platforms that enable companies to buy fabricated headshots.
