Develop, Extended Realities: Careers in Digital Art

6:30pm, Tue 29 Oct 2024

18-24 year olds can join Zaiba Jabbar and Elise Rose online as they share their digital practices

This event is part of our Past Programme

Join Elise Rose and Zaiba Jabbar as they talk through their digital practices and inspirations. They will explain how they have established themselves in the digital creative sector, creating for art exhibition spaces to queer club nights to internationally recognised brands.

Both Zaiba and Elise focus on bringing digital art to the public in innovative ways. This can be through Zaiba’s projects that are dedicated to celebrating and uplifting marginalised artists, particularly those who are non-binary and female-identifying, to Elise’s dynamic and playful animations that centre marginalised queer communities at the core.

They will present some of their projects before discussing their working methods. We will then have an opportunity for a wider discussion.

Artist Biographies

Elise Rose is a British 3D Digital artist and animator based in London. Often inspired by video games, science fiction and rave culture, her art explores methods of escapism for marginalised communities through futuristic fantasy. Elise has collaborated with international brands and platforms such as NIKE, Beats By Dre, Boiler Room, NTS and AFROPUNK.

Zaiba Jabbar is an independent curator and the founder of HERVISIONS, a femme-focused curatorial agency that produces innovative commissions, exhibitions, and events with a strong focus on the intersection of art, technology, and culture. Zaiba was the curator for Open Space, The Photographers’ Gallery’s Augmented Reality initiative.

This event is part of our Develop programme. The programme is a new initiative that supports young people (aged 18-24) to work towards a commissioning opportunity with The Photographers’ Gallery.
