In this final and unique talk as part of the programme for the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2023, hear writer and critic Phoebe Cripps give insight into the work of Frida Orupabo, one of this year’s nominees. Cripps will offer her own reflections on Orupabo’s practice and will consider her expanded approach to working with the image through reconfigured representations of Black bodies. In her observations, Cripps will also position the artist within the context of photographic histories and wider art theory.
Tickets to this event includes after-hours access to the exhibition. Entry from 18.00 with the talk beginning at 18.30.
