The World in London

Thu 26 Jul 2012 - Wed 12 Sep 2012

The World in London is a major public art project initiated by The Photographers’ Gallery, to coincide with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This event is part of our Past Programme

The project set out to commission 204 photographic portraits of 204 Londoners, each originating from one of the nations competing at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The portraits are exhibited as large-scale posters at two sites close to Olympic venues: on the external wall surrounding the BT London Live site in Victoria Park in East London, and across a city-block in Central London covering the façade of the new Park House development in Oxford Street.

In addition to the outdoor exhibition sites a digital presentation of the portraits is also on display on The Wall, a centrepiece of the digital programme, located in the Gallery’s ground floor.

Exhibition Locations:

Victoria Park: 27 July - 12 August 2012 London, E3
Park House: 27 July - 9 September 2012, 453 - 497 Oxford Street, London, W1
The Photographers’ Gallery (The Wall): 15 August - 13 September 16 - 18 Ramillies Street, London, W1F 7LW
